Once you have chosen the microphones type and location, built the mechanical design and finalize the electronic setup, you have to tune your multimicrophones system to generate a standard ambisonic B-FORMAT.

It’s not easy to use omnidirectional microphones to form a proper dipole directional pattern, especially when you are dealing with cheap MEMS microphones.

To achieve these goals, some sophisticated procedures are performed:

  • acoustical simulations
  • microphone array measurements in the anechoic room
  • array polar plots
  • directional tests
  • fine tuning

 

Here we are! We have just found the right DSP conversion formula to get a nice ambisonics B FORMAT (SN3D – CAN) with the SpheriMic by ARKAMYS, our ambisonic microphone!
